Been working on a special project recently. After doing the robot oil paintings I’ve been keen to do a design of my own making. Longtime followers of my page might recognise this guy, the Agori Warsuit! There’s the underdrawing for an oil painting to be. It’s done on A1 size paper so is the largest picture I’ve worked on since Artschool! Fingers crossed it comes out how I want it to. . . . . . . . . . . . . . #art #artist #drawing #doodle #sketch #sketchbook #pencil #pencildrawing #pencilsketch #illustration #illustrator #thomaselliott #darksong #agoriwarsuit #mech #mecha #robot #giantrobot #scifi #scifiart #anime https://www.instagram.com/p/CqS7DL2Km_k/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Weathering the Storm: Resilience and Adaptation in the Aviation Fuel Market 2019-2026
The aviation fuel market is driven by rising air travelers and increasing spend on air travel from emerging economies, especially from the Asia-Pacific region. The most commonly used Jet A1 fuel will dominate the market during the forecast period while biofuels will gain a significant share owing to several investments being made towards sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and the commitment of the aviation industry to reduce carbon emissions to 50% by 2040. The global aviation fuel market size was valued at $179.2 billion in 2018 and is anticipated to generate $238.5 billion by 2026. The market is projected to experience growth at a CAGR of 3.5% from 2019 to 2026.
𝐃𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐥𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞 & 𝐓𝐎𝐂: https://www.alliedmarketresearch.com/request-sample/6172
Aviation fuel is a type of petroleum-based fuel used to energize an aircraft. It has better quality than other fuels used in any other medium of transport. The additives used in aviation fuel reduce the risk of icing or explosion due to high temperatures. Aviation fuel is primarily used by most military aircraft and commercial airlines to maximize fuel efficiency and lower operational costs. Aircraft industry is expanding nowadays, which is increasing the competition among aircraft aviation fuel production in all sectors.
The demand from the military sector for efficient and low-cost military-grade fuel has increased as all the nations are increasing their military strength. Owing to increased disposable income and a boom in the tourism industry, a rise in air transportation has been experienced through air travel mode, which further drives the market growth. Moreover, the introduction of new flight routes and investments from the government in the field for the construction of new airports also boost the aviation fuel market growth. However, fluctuations in crude oil prices and rise in concerns over high levels of carbon emissions leading to strict rules and regulations hampers the market growth. Meanwhile, emerging sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) that is produced from typical feedstocks such as cooking oil and other non-palm waste oils from animals or plants, solid waste from homes and businesses, such as packaging, paper, textiles, and food scraps offer lucrative opportunities for the growth of the aviation fuel industry.

Meet new sewing pattern <Kaede> Utility apron / Tool belt
A new item is just released from Waffle Patterns. Meet Utility apron / Tool belt <Kaede> sewing pattern. You can choose a bib apron type or tool belt with many useful pockets and functional parts!
Please freely mix and combine the design options as you like and make functional gear for sewists, gardeners, carpenters, makeup artists, florists, or all cool creative workers!
Tumblr media
<Design options>
View A is an apron type with a bib and the apron is slightly longer than View B. The bib pocket has a layer and pen holder. There is a large layered pocket on the center of the apron and useful cargo pockets, zipper pockets, and hanger loops are on the side parts.
View B is a tool belt type with belt loops, and slightly shorter than View A. The center pocket has one more layer for the artist tool pocket where we can store brushes, seam rippers, or any other stick-shaped equipment. It features belt loops&belt. you can make a belt for this or use a belt you already have. Also, it can be changed to View A type of belt.
My personal favourite is the detachable tool pocket. If you want to make this, please attach the hunger loop or belt loops/belt for attaching it.
Please mix and match the options for your design intention and materials.
Tumblr media
<fabric recommendation>
The pattern is drafted for woven fabrics. Mid-heavy weight durable fabrics like duck, twill, denim, linen, or canvas will be suitable.
Some very thick/stiff fabrics might not be suitable for details like double folded edge or flap etc, because of the thickness of fabric layers. Please consider proper finishes for your material or try to use a contrast fabric for some parts.
I partly used folded nylon tape instead of the double folded pocket opening edges on the sample. Depending on the fabric, maybe this is a good option for the hem, too. Also, I used a contrast fabric for the facing on the gray sample and skip interfacing on some parts, because the shell is quite stiff.
The salmon pink sample was made with mid-weight cotton duck, I made other workwear series with this like Anzu or Azuki. I bought it at local traveling fabric market years ago. Since the construction is like chambray or dungaree, similar fabrics may be found in coloured denim section.
The gray sample is a teflon-coated outdoor fabric. It’s a bit stiff for clothing but perfect for this item. This fabric is also from my local fabric market years ago.
I want to make another one with oil clothes, raw denim or nylon ripstop if I can find nice fabric.
Tumblr media
<Other material>
The samples are using durable webbing tape for the belt and neck straps etc. Those tapes and parts like adjusters are sometimes found in bag making material section at stores. If you cannot find perfect materials, make the tape from a shell or contrast fabric of the same width.
<Size>
3 sizes XS/S, M/L, and XL/XXL are available. As for choosing your size, I recommend referring to the finishing measurement, too. I think some people like to use a tool belt of a smaller size. In that case, please choose a smaller size, then adjust the length of the belt and neck strap to fit your body. If you use the apron over jackets or outers, a larger size will be the option. Since the pattern is quite flat, those are suitable for men, too. The length might be too short. If you want to lengthen, off-setting the hem is the easiest way.

cooking for people who have no idea what they are doing (or are just, like, real depressed)
Okay, I’m a professional cook, but also, I get depressed. This is the cooking I do when I’m depressed, because I need the simplest path to a whole meal.
This is not for vegetarians, because, while I wholeheartedly support people choosing vegetarianism, and also enjoy cooking for vegetarians, for me, the simplest path to a meal includes meat. Perhaps when I am less depressed I will work on options.
A lot of recipes focus on achieving food that is in some way special, using special techniques, or using a precise list of carefully measured high-end ingredients... and that’s not this, this is all the parts of cooking that are not those things.
First, shopping
Meats Starches Veggies Sauces Breakfast/Snack
For a whole week you’re going to want
3 kinds of meat, with five portions each. So, for example, five chicken breasts, 10 sausage links, and 2-3 pounds of ground beef. Other possibilities include pork chops, salmon, some kind of steak, whatever.
You’re going to want up to 3 starches. Honestly I usually stick to just rice, but you can go with rice, potatoes, and pasta. If you want to use quinoa or polenta or something, thats on you.
And, you’re going to want about 3 types of vegetables, again, about 5 portions each -- and try to stay green. So personally, I usually get 5 medium zucchini, 2 medium heads of broccoli, and then either yellow squash or mushrooms. A bag of salad greens is also a good option, and I have an easy way to make a good salad, which I will do as a separate post.
Next pick something easy that works as either breakfast or a snack. For me this is a loaf of bread, a jar of peanut butter, and a bunch of bananas. Sometimes it’s nice to have an additional option here, like cereal or yogurt.
Last, you’ll want 2-5 sauces in bottles. I would definitely recommend a low sodium soy sauce be one of them, and maybe a BBQ sauce for the other. I usually also include worcestershire and sriracha but go with whatever you want, teriyaki sauce, A1, whatever you know you’ll eat. Hell, you can use Italian style salad dressing as a cookable sauce if you really want.
Oh, and If you don’t already have some at the house, you’ll need pan lube: butter and/or some kind of cooking oil.
Okay! we’re done shopping! Affordability isn’t the main focus here, but is undeniably important -- I live in a very expensive area, this shopping trip is going to feed me well for a week and costs me about $100 bucks. When I was living in Alabama, it probably would have cost me more like $70. You won’t need to get stuff like the sauce and rice and peanut butter every week, so you’re definitely looking at a monthly grocery bill of something like $300 depending on where you live, and that’s not too bad.
Prep
hell no, I’m depressed, the only prep I’m doing is putting two packages of meat in the freezer and the rest of this stuff in the fridge. You CAN box or bag each portion of meat separately so you can really alternate what you eat -- me, I’m gonna eat chicken for two or three days, then beef for two or three days, etc.
and listen, don’t fuck around with microwave settings or running water on things to defrost them. If you package the meat all up separately, just move a portion from the freezer to the fridge each time you cook dinner. Or, if you do like me, move the whole package when you go to cook your last portion of the previous stuff, and just deal with the fact that it will probably still be a tiny bit frozen when you go to cook next.
Tip: When you cook dinner, you’re going to make enough for lunch. That just leaves you one small meal - I often smear peanut butter on a peice of bread and wrap it around a banana like a taco - fast, easy, practically no dishes, relatively healthy
____________________________________________________________
Cooking (this is going to take about 25 minutes)
You’re going to need
ONE frying pan, medium size w/ lid ONE boil pot, medium size w/ lid knife, a spatula and a cutting board.
If you want to be fancy, you can include a big spoon. Looks like this
Tumblr media
No matter what the specific ingredients you’ve chosen, the basic format is going to be:
Start your starch heat pan, put meat in the pan flip meat and add veggies, cover with lid remove meat and add sauce finish starch put everything on a plate while it is still too hot to eat and you are standing in the kitchen anyway, wash the like, 4 dishes you’ve gotten dirty. eat.
Okay, before you even get everything else out, start your starch. For rice this means rinse the rice and put it in the cold water and set it on high heat, for pasta this means put your salted water on the stove on high heat. For potatoes, you can use my perfect mashed potatoes recipe (I’ll do that as a separate post) or, honestly, you can wait until you’re halfway done with the rest of everything and microwave the sucker for like 8 minutes. I would never do that in a restaurant, but trying to feed my lethargic depressed ass? Absolutely.
easy rice: Fill your smallest coffee cup with rice, put it in the pot. Rinse. Fill the same cup twice with water, add to rice. Bring to a boil, give a good stir, turn heat all the way down, put a lid on it for something like 15 more minutes.
Okay, now lube your pan. Butter, olive oil, whatever. You’re probably looking at an amount more than a teaspoon and less than a table spoon of whichever you use. Personally I try to use as little olive oil as possible, so I pour a large coin sized amount (a quarter in the U.S.) into the pan, ear off a piece of the paper towel I’m going to use as my napkin for the evening, fold it up tight, and sort of paint the oil around so a little goes a longer way.
Pan lubed? Great, turn your burner on. highest heat will work but is not ideal, medium heat will work better but is still not ideal. Halfway between the two is perfect for chicken, a little hotter for beef, a little lower for fish.
Now remove two portions of your chosen protein (that way you’ll have tomorrow’s lunch too). By the time you get the packaging open and stuff, your pan is probably hot. If it’s not, let it get hot. You don’t want the oil to start smoking (warning, butter will burn faster than oil) but if you shake a single drop of water off your finger into the pan, you want it to sizzle.
If your pan is hot, put your meat in. The more you do this, the more you’ll perfect the timing, but you’re going to cook it for ~about~ 7 minutes before you flip it, maybe a couple minutes longer if it’s chicken or pork, maybe a couple minutes less if it’s beef.
Tumblr media
Now that your meat is in, prepare your veggie. Rinse it off, cut off any part of it you don’t want to eat, and then cut what’s left into pieces the size of a large bite. Don’t worry, it’s going to get a little smaller when you cook it. Take your time, you’ll probably finish in less time than the meat needs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Time to flip your meat? Great. Do that, and then dump your chopped up veggie in the pan. It does not matter at all if the pieces are not touching the bottom of the pan -probably most of them will not be, a bunch will be on top of the meat, that’s fine.
Tumblr media
Put a lid on it. Now add your pasta to the water, or put your potato in the microwave, or check your rice. If following my perfect mashed potato recipe, mash now.
Rice tip, checking: eat a grain, you want zero crunch. If it’s not done and there’s no liquid, add a splash of water and stir. It it’s done or close to done, but it is still very wet, give it a big stir and leave on the stove with the lid off for a couple minutes.
Your meat still has like, at least 4 minutes, so rinse off your cutting board and chef knife, get out a plate, table knife and fork.
Meat done? Great. Take the meat out of the pan, leaving the veggies in. Add sauce to the pan. I like to also use a little wine, because it’s usually already in the house, if you have some and want to, pour a large swallow of wine in the pan with the sauce. I’ll often mix a couple sauces, like worcestershire and soy (makes something similar to teriyaki) or hot sauce and BBQ
Tumblr media
Stir the sauce around with the veggies. This, called deglazing, is an important step for two reasons, 1: it will get up a lot of the flavorful stuff that has stuck to the pan and make your sauce better, and 2: it will make washing the pan much easier. Okay, put the lid back on for one to two minutes, maybe stir a couple times. Basically you want the sauce to stain the veggies.
Tumblr media
Your starch should be done, turn off the burner, put a portion on your plate, and stick the rest in a ziplock or tupperware or something. Go ahead and throw the second portion of meat right in there with it.
Tumblr media
Turn off the stove and scoop the veggies onto the plate, and pour the sauce from the pan over everything.
Now, while it’s too hot to eat, and you’re standing in the kitchen anyway, wash the pot, pan, and spatula. It should be very easy because of the way you used the sauce and because nothing has had a chance to harden. This usually takes me about 2 full minutes.
__________________________________________________________
OKAY! it’s been 20-25 minutes, you’ve got dinner and tomorrow’s lunch (just add another cut up veggie, pour a different sauce on, and put it in the microwave for two or three minutes) AND there’s no danger of dishes piling up on you :) You can even add “washing last night’s plate and fork for use tonight” to where you rinse the cutting board to really keep it full circle.
It’s not gormet. It IS accessibly healthy, affordable, and easy.
If you are extra depressed, forget the starch and use more veggies; this cuts what little work there is by up to half
Using this format, you can have three good meals per day and only spend 30 total minutes a day in the kitchen — including clean up! (dishes piling up tends to exacerbate my depression and makes cooking your next meal harder)
And it’s easy to give yourself a wide variety, from soy glazed chicken, zucchini and rice one night; to steak, mushrooms and pasta the next; followed by BBQ pork chops, brocoli and potatoes... I suck at math but there’s probably a hundred options
Just to recap, because I know I was very detailed and this might seem overwhelming, once you read through the above to answer any questions you might have, simply
-Start your starch -lube & heat pan, put meat in the pan, about 7 minutes -flip meat, add veggies, lid, about 7 minutes -wash knife and cutting board -remove meat and add sauce to veggies, re-lid, 1-2 minutes -finish starch, refrigerate extra meat and starch  -put everything left on a plate -wash pot and pan -eat.

Things cheaper at Dollartree (after much research)
This is a big list I made for myself and anyone else who wants to know what is legit cheaper at the dollar tree and not just 1 dollar for the sake of there, some things might surprise you what is cheaper and even better at a dollar tree. I try to also pick the healthiest options and compare them to prices in places such as Walmart or a large stock place like BJs. I have also used fooducate.com to see which ones are more healthy, of course with things such as chips and snacks though don’t consider them to be healthy but in those cases I opt for the off-brand ones that taste better than the brand ones. Note: This is USA based.
Food:
Drinks:
Azul Coconut Juice, 16.5 oz. (cheapest and healthiest coconut water out there)
Gatorade Fruit Punch Thirst Quencher, 24 oz.
Stacker 2 B-12 Vitamin Shots is also cheaper.
Rockstar Pure Zero Silver Ice Energy Drinks (energy drinks are bad for you but it’s like 30 cents cheaper here than in walmart)
LaCroix Lime Flavored Sparkling Water 1 litter
(don’t even bother with any or all of the cheap soda it’s the worst, please drink water if anything else, all of the good soda is cheaper somewhere else also)
Snacks:
Cheez-It Original Baked Snack Crackers, 4.5 oz is cheaper at Dollartree.
Nabisco Cheese Nips Baked Snack Crackers, 7 oz is cheaper at Dollartree.
Nabisco Ritz Bits Cheese and Cracker Sandwiches, 3-oz. is SORTA cheaper at dollartree.
Island Choice Dry-Roasted Peanuts, 7.5 oz. (shelled nuts cheaper everywhere else of course in bulk)
Island Choice Honey-Roasted Dry-Roasted Peanuts, 7.5 oz
Pennysticks Mini Pretzels, 12 oz (pretzels the same, these cheaper)
Tropical Chips Plantains, 3-oz (30 cents cheaper)
Barcel Takis Fuego Flavored Churritos Stix, 4 oz (apparently, 9oz is 2,50 so 3 would be 12oz and 3 dollars, it would be kinda cheaper?)
Pringles Grab & Go Barbecue Chips, 2.5 oz (buying in bulk anywhere else is cheaper though, however, this single container costs 1,25 everywhere else)
Brim's Fried Barbecue Pork Rinds, 2.635 oz
Carolina Country Snacks Salt & Vinegar Pork Rinds. 2.75 oz
Sheila G's Chocolate Chip Brownie Brittle, 2 oz
Barcel Takis Crunchy Fajitas Tortilla Chips, 3.2 oz
T.G.I. Friday’s Jalapeno Cheddar Potato Skins Snack Chips, 4.5 oz
Snack Factory Original Pretzel Crisps, 3-oz (50 cents cheaper!)
PopCorners Kettle Flavor Popped Corn Chips, 3 oz. (better in bulk also)
Good Health Veggie Chips with Sea Salt, 2.75-oz (better in bulk also)
Stacy's Parmesan Garlic & Herb Flavored Pita Chips, 3 oz (better in bulk also)
Rudolph's OnYums Onion-Flavored Ring Chips, 3 oz (it’s off brand Funyuns but it’s actually BETTER and cheaper depending on where you buy them because they’re often sold more expensively at gas stations than Funyuns, fun fact)
Island Choice Banana Chips, 6 oz. Bags
Island Choice Sweet and Spicy Trail Mix, 5 oz (healthy!)
Breakfast Blueberry Biscuits, 7.93 oz.
Harvest Hill Quick Oats, 16 oz. Canisters (Top choice too)
Canned and Pickled
Pampa Tropical Mango Slices in Light Syrup, 15 oz. Cans
Bell's Pitted Olives, 6 oz
Green Giant Sliced Carrots, 14.5 oz (but mostly because I cannot find them anywhere else, all other Green Giant stuff is sold cheaper in bulk though)
Margaret Holmes Finely Chopped Spinach, 27 oz (TOP CHOICE)
Crider Premium Chunk White Turkey 5oz
Libby"s Sliced Pineapple, 20 oz (surprisingly!)
Margaret Holmes Seasoned Field Peas and Snaps, 15 oz
Cans of Pampa(R) Peach Slices, 15.25oz
Pampa Mushroom Pieces & Stems, 10 oz
Pampa Extra-Long Asparagus Spears, 12-oz (by the way Pampa is a really good healthy brand which is cheaper so these alternatives are great)
Libby's Premium Mandarin Oranges, 15 oz
Breckenridge Farms Pickled Jalapeno Slices, 12.5 oz (however Old El Paso Jalapeno Slices, Pickled 12.5oz is 1 dollar more expensive in other places and considered more healthy)
Van Camp's Chunk White Albacore Tuna 5oz (keep in mind this is the only canned tuna that is cheaper at dollartree, Albacore is very healthy and usually more expensive than Tuna, but dollartree sells white albacore in water on the same price as light tuna, this is a very good tuna brand as well)
Mc. Trader Tender Green Asparagus Spears, 10.5 oz
Pampa Smoked Oysters in Oil
Healthy Choice Chicken Noodle Soup, 15-oz
Beach Cliff Sardines in Mustard Sauce, 3.75 (top choice)
Beach Cliff Sardines in Water, 3.75 oz (top choice)
French Onion Dip, 8.5 oz (all onion’s dips the same as well)
Condiments and Spicing
Goya Sazon Seasoning, 8-Packet Boxes
Deli Market Yellow Mustard 20oz (not only is this the best healthiest mustard, but it’s cheaper if you buy it like this than any other mustard in stock size, I wish I had known of this before already stocking up buy buying a 2 pack of 20oz mustard at BJs which is enough to last a year for me)
Louisiana Supreme Hot Sauce 12oz (top choice too)
Kendale Farm Beef Broth, 32 oz (top choice, cheaper than most 32oz broths)
Heinz 57 Sauce, 5 oz. (1,50 cheaper than Walmart)

Deli Market Deli Spicy Brown Mustard (top choice)
Riverton Orchards Lemon Juice, 32-oz (lemon juice the same)
Kraft Bullseye Everyday Original Barbecue Sauce, 17.5-oz (80 cents cheaper than the same product in Target)
A.1. Thick & Hearty Steak Sauce, 5 oz. (SURPRISINGLY, not even in bulk is it as cheap as this? Weird, 5oz is 1 dollar right? 30oz for A1 is usually 8 dollars in stock supermarkets, but 5 times 8 would be 40oz! This is... Interesting. Especially considering it’s a well known brand as well, I wonder who is their dealer or are they just selling it cheap out of donation?)
Healthy Chef Canola Non-Stick Cooking Spray (this one’s pretty wild too, it only is sold at dollartree and is considered the healthiest cooking spray in the entirety of America according to fooducate)
Candy
Gonna go on a safe bet here and say that everything can be found for less and in greater quantity anywhere else. Hairbo Twin Snake is the same price at Walmart though. Most candies are sold 40% cheaper at bulk supermarkets though.
Office & School Supplies
You can probably find all of these at an Ebay auction, but it’s more accessible here.
Crayola Washable Glue Sticks, 2-ct. Packs (1.50 cheaper than walmart)
Duck Tape is cheap as hell
All-Purpose Krazy Glue, .052-oz. Tubes
Other stuff:
Laundry stuff, I’d recommend Ajax 40oz or Fab. Those are AMAZING brands and known as top quality in Australia. And it is insane how cheap this is, they must import it??
Scott Toilet Paper: Oh my god HOW IS 4 TOILET PAPERS THIS CHEAP HERE AT THE DOLLAR TREE???? TP is literally more expensive everywhere else.
Kitchen appliances, a glass salt shaker is like 5 dollars at Walmart but it’s 1 dollar at dollartree. All of the Betty Crocker kitchen appliances like spatulas are only a dollar too and so good. (They are 3 DOLLARS cheaper at dollar tree). IT IS INSANE HOW CHEAP this shit is here, like the can opener they sell for 1 dollar is 6 or 5 dollars everywhere else.
Fisher-Price Smart Care Aloe Vera and Chamomile Baby Wipes, 80-ct. Packs
All Arm & Hammer stuff including the Arm & Hammer Ultra Max 3-in-1 Fresh Scented Body Wash, Shampoo, and Conditioner, 12 oz are good choices. Deodorant too is good. All Arm and hammer stuff here is cheaper than on Walmart and a great brand.
Hand soap might be found for 97 cents at Walmart but it’s a small difference.
Not Cheaper, Best bought at a bulk store:
Peanut Butter Filled Pretzels
snack bars.
V8 Vegetable Juice
Potato Stix
Cereal
Canned Soup
Canned Tuna
Badia Original Complete Seasoning (this took a while to calculate but yes it’s cheaper to buy in bulk, dollartree has 2,5oz for 1 dollar, usually a 2 pack of 12oz each is 13 dollars. if you do like 2.5 times 2.5oz, it’s like 32oz which is more than 24oz for 13 dollars, but you can find 1.75 lbs. of this for 8 dollars)
Iodized Salt (get it at Great value honestly)
Dill Pickles in general, but Vlasic Kosher Dill Pickles is the healthiest choice
Cambell canned soups
Goya canned beans
Sunny Sea Sardines in Tomato Sauce, 7.5-oz
Here’s hoping me publishing this doesn’t crash the market or anything but seriously, you can live healthily and frugally like this. I literally survive like this easily, I just spend like 60 dollars a month max with supplies.

Life drawing workshops with Eoin McCormack ( 26/4/21)
I choose pineapple to challenge myself with detail, @eoinmclsad wanted big scale I worked on A1 Size paper, focusing on my last piece of the workshop, the video shows I'm focusing more on the fabric getting the fabric to fold continues with out line. The changing off the pineapple became part of the painting with time.

This was my final GCSE painting. I took a risk with this piece as it was worth 40% of my final grade and I’d never painted in oil prior to painting this. This painting is mixed media, consisting of oil, watercolour and acrylic. Choosing oil paint as my main media was a last minute choice and I’d never used it before so the decision was impulsive but overall I think the result was satisfactory. The theme leading up to this was natural forms and the concept was the preservation of life. It is an A1 sized painting and took 10 hours to complete.

Evaluation
Project Outline
For my personal project I wanted to produce a series of 10 images that represent the current covid-19 situation in relation to the feeling of being trapped in one’s home; the feelings of wanting to be outdoors again. I wanted to show this by combining the indoors and outdoors through editing techniques. The Brief is broken into 4 stages. Stage 1 (workbook exercise), stage 2 (plan), stage 3 (development) and stage 4 (evaluation).
Planning and Research
When originally thinking of my plan I was set on creating studio still life as I feel this is where my strengths are, and where I was genuinely interested in exploring.  Covid-19 spread quickly and restrictions came into force just as fast. It soon became clear to me that studio was no longer an option and I had to create a plan with the knowledge that the UK could go into full lockdown.
My plan was created with this knowledge and understanding at the time, of the current covid-19 medical crisis. I Made the plan so that I could still work on my project even with the restrictions. Suddenly doing still life no longer interested me. I wanted to create something that was representative of what I, and many people across the world were feeling. In other words, I felt that this was a unique situation and It grasped my imagination more than natural daylight still life.
I had an interest in creating images with multiple exposures, so I began to research photographers that used these techniques. The main photographers that I was inspired by were Florian Imgrund, Christoffer Relander and Duane Michals. I picked these photographers for their artistic use of multiple exposures as it was the techniques that I wanted to apply to my images.
This gave me the idea to create the inside/outside contrast in my images. I thought it would be a good idea to shoot local parks and portraits of me inside to show that I was trapped and reminiscing.
When researching Duane Michals work I discovered that he often used series of images in such a way that tells a story. I knew that I wanted to tell a story with my images, I felt this made simple images interesting; each image unlocking a little bit more about the story.
 Modifications/Plan
By the time I got my plan back even more restrictions where in place meaning I had to make modifications to my ideas.
I wanted to shoot in my local contrary parks however due to the new restrictions, public parks had been shut and only one hour of exercise a day was allowed. I knew that I had to modify my plan if I wanted to take natural texture shots and of trees like Christoffer Relander. I came to the decision to shoot in my back garden instead. This would be a safe environment for me to shoot. Although you’re technically allowed out for a walk everyday (I could go out a walk, bring my camera and take images of trees outside) I didn’t want to risk my health, or my households health for pictures of trees, and only wanted to go out if it was essential.
Modifications/Development
My first 3 shoots where heavily inspired by Christoffer Relander’s oil exposures. The technique Relander used, (multiple exposures) I set out to use in my aim for my project. The unhuman aspect of the images didn’t tell the story I wanted to tell. I noticed that I missed one key aim that I set out in my plan. I wanted to explore the feelings of being trapped in our own home. I knew that I had to incorporate a human element to the images, or this message will not come across. I then took more inspiration from Florain Imgrund and created portraits to add the human aspect into my images which followed my plan more effectively. The added restriction made my aim more relevant as the nation began to stay indoors.
When looking at my schedule in my original plan I strayed drastically from it. I created my timeline so that I would be taking a texture shoot with every main image shoot, back to back. However, when doing my first 3 shoots I noticed that I had more than enough texture images to work with. This meant that I was doing far less shoots than I originally thought I would. I had one other texture shoot after the first 3, and this was of the flowers that had newly bloomed in my garden. I did not set out to get pictures of flowers originally, but I felt they were to beautiful not to include.
I began taking portraits and liked the way that they where turning out without the multiple exposure. I changed my mind and set out to take images showing the feelings of being in isolation, but not specifically to the longing of wanting to be in nature (as I originally set out).
By the tenth shoot I decided to edit the nature texture shots over all my images to see how they would turn out, to honour my original idea, and because of feedback from peers. I was sure before editing that I didn’t want to add the natural textures on all my images. Once I was finished with editing I felt my images looked more coherent and interesting. I realised that my original idea was the way forward and decided to go down the path of natural multiple exposed images. I learned that even if you think something may not work, it can be worth trying it anyway because it could work out better than you thought it would.
Presentation and Finish
I partly edited my images as I shot. When reflecting on it, I’m glad I did. This gave me more time at the end of my project to consider presentation, as my images where already mostly edited. Should I have left all my editing to the very end of all my shoots, then edited my images all at once; I could have become tired of editing. Editing as I went along made the project more manageable for me.
I experimented with different sequencing for my final 10 images. I wanted the sequence that told the best story, as this was one of my aims from my plan. I am happy with the sequencing that I chose as I feel it makes the most sense.
Although our images will not be printed, I still thought deeply about what I would do if I was going to get them printed. I created some mock-up images on photoshop to show how my images may have looked in their target market.  This looked effective and helped translate how my images would have presented in print. This made the images feel more real and three dimensional.
I considered the scale and paper type I would be using for the prints. I came to the conclusion that I would print all images A1. I think A1 would be most effective as it is large. The large image would catch the viewer’s attention therefor making more of a visual impact.
I also considered the three images which I would exhibit and what size/layout I would want them to be in. I opted for 2 A1s with no borders and on mount board, and one A0 with no boarder and on mount board. I am glad I consider these factors even though sadly I will not be printing my final images.
Obstacles
Not being able to use college facilities was by far the biggest obstacle in this project. I had to completely reconsider what I wanted to shoot and use what I had at home to create quality images. I am thankful that I have a good camera and some good lenses. However, the light I had available to me was mostly natural light or tungsten light. The way the light shines through my house was also an obstacle as I only had one well light area in my house which was the dining room. The other rooms windows where too small or in the shadow of the houses across the road; minimising the amount of light getting in. I worked round this and made sure to shoot at the time of day/sunny days where I was getting the brightest sunlight.
The other obstacle was technology. I was relying on my laptop for editing my images and struggled greatly with my laptop freezing and crashing. It runs photoshop extremely slow. I got over this by constantly saving my work to protect it in the event of my laptop crashing. I also made sure to only have one page open at once if I could on photoshop to make it a little faster.
Motivation was also a big obstacle. I struggled to have enthusiasm to experiment and take images as the current situation disrupted my usual routine.  I was no longer working and attending classes my sleep schedule was all over the place. On top of that the constant Covid 19 updates on the news everyday makes being motivated difficult. I tried to view the graded unit work as something to do during quarantine and eventually it helped take my mind off things and I felt motivated to shoot again.
Skills Gained/Developed
Before the project I had never created works using multiple images before, so I was new to the technique. I have now learned how to digitally develop multiple images (multiple exposure) on photoshop.
I have learned a great deal about portraiture/figure photography. Before this Graded unit I was not confident with my portrait photography however the project has allowed me to understand how angles and perspective effects the portrait. I found that when taking images at a lower angle it created an unflattering perspective on my face, but if I was to use a lower angle on a figure shot it would make me look taller and more flattering.
I learned how to create mock-ups on photoshop. I had researched tutorials online and on YouTube. For my final presentation and consideration of print I wanted to show my images in their target market. To do so I knew I would have to create mock-ups on photoshop. I had never done this before and with some research I learned how to create them. I think they look highly effective and this is a skill I will use in projects to come.
I have developed my planning/researching skills in this project. I thought thoroughly about what exactly I wanted to shoot and why I wanted to shoot it in my plan. As well as researching some great photographers that relate back to my plan. In previous projects my planning was not as thorough and this caused me to struggle through the developing stages, I was not always completely set on an idea or where I wanted to go. I have developed my planning skills and it has greatly helped me throughout my entire project.
My conceptual ideas were something that I feel really flourished in this project. I have always considered myself to be creative however I found with most of my projects through the year I often struggled with concepts and ideas. This was something that I really wanted to develop. I was able to develop that in this project as I had many shot ideas. I organised my thoughts better and when an idea came to mind, I made sure to write it down in my notes so that I wouldn’t forget it.
 Areas For Improvement
File management is an area I need to improve on as I did not always save all my shoots on the SD card and into a USB or on my computer. I also need to be more organised with folder management on my computer both in terms of labelling and clearing older file versions. I Feel this is something that I will always have to continually improve on as I know how important it is to have organised folders and backup copies of your work.
Time management is another area I feel I could improve as I often find myself working right up to deadlines. I am prone to procrastinate and this reduces the potential time and options for my final work. Improved time management would prevent me from getting overly stressed with deadlines.
Conclusion
In conclusion I am very happy with how my images turned out and I’m proud of myself for continuing to create work in this very unusual situation. When discovering that we would be required to create a project through these difficult times I felt stressed and overwhelmed as I knew I wouldn’t be able to do what I originally wanted to do with my project.
When I got the motivation and began creating images which I was proud of I couldn’t stop thinking and working on my project and the ideas I had for it, it soon became a great inspiration during the long period of lockdown.
I am happy with what I have learned throughout this project and I know I will be using all the new techniques in projects to come. I still have many areas that I would like to develop further to improve on and whilst I am proud of my work   and my final 10 images there is always room for improvement.
Overall, I enjoyed this process and will continue to take more images throughout lockdown to pass the time.

Hey, Elon, I got a Proposition!
Tumblr media
Someone asked me to answer this on Quora, and well, I actually do have an answer for it!  And it’s pretty awesome.
I’m smiling because I’m actually trying to answer this myself.
And no, I’m not kidding. YES YOU CAN DO THIS, AND I’VE NOW GOT THE NUMBERS TO PROVE IT! I racked this with a good mechanical friend of mine, and another who maintains the boiler at his job. Basically, I’ve consulted people who know what they’re doing.
Basically, I decided to take a fictional locomotive from a very famous children’s story and see if I can stuff a bunch of Tesla battery modules up its tender, and add regenerative braking to said locomotive. Which actually would be better than the dynamic braking used by diesels today. One reason is how regenerative braking works when it comes to shoving a bunch of Tesla batteries up said locomotive’s tender. Though we can do half and half. And granted the locomotive has air brakes, we can just do regenerative blended braking.
On top of…converting said locomotive into a waste vegetable oil burner…which is an actual thing and two steam locomotives currently burn waste vegetable oil.
WVO is wasted cooking oil, namely veggie oil that restaurants use and then must dispose of after they use it. Using waste veggie oil actually saves on water, water that you have to add to cooking oil to even get it to be properly converted into biodiesel. Basically, frying a whole pot of chicken does the work for you. You just need to strain all the stuff you don’t want from the oil and use a fuel injector and atomizer in the firebox to spray the WVO fuel in.
And the fireman’s duties are now to adjust how much is being atomized, as well as the occasional dumping of sand in the firebox which helps keep the fire tubes unclogged. And said dumping of sand is literally not that much. It’s a little bucket and the guy has a small spade and plops a small scoop in.
The two locomotives that are the first to be converted to WVO are the GCR No. 4960 which is a Mikado 2–8–2, and the GCR No. 29 which is a Consolidated 2–8–0. Both locomotives do not use coal at all, only the wasted cooking oil that the restaurants ran by the park’s railways throw out, and for water, only snow melt is used.
Basically these two locomotives that run on the Grand Canyon Railway are carbon neutral burning locomotives. They are THAT clean. They actually did try various other fuel, including diesel! Yes, those two locomotives…burned diesel in their fireboxes once!
So the locomotive in question for this particular experiment that will answer your question is the fabled Gresley 4–6–2 Pacific prototype A0. Said locomotive does not exist in life, but on paper. However, a reverend by the name of Wilbur Awdry made this prototype exist in his book series.
I’m talking about Gordon. The posh, snobbish, galloping, blue sausage himself.
Tumblr media
I’ve had fun with this guy. I chose him because of his rather unique attributes and a certain race that though he did lose due to plot convenience and I’m gonna call it that because every boilerman I’ve either spoken with or read in blogs who have looked at the footage from the movie The Great Race all said that Gordon actually had the capacity to defeat the SNCF BB 9003…an electric locomotive that had a top speed of 200 miles per hour. All Gordon needed was a little streamlining to do it. Apparently Gresley built the first steam locomotive that runs on pure awesome.
Basically, Gordon is mainline high speed passenger train material. He always was, but now it’s like…move over Mallard level of high speed. So it would be feasible and possibly even very likely that for the future of the Northwestern Railway, upgrades to Gordon would be required to meet ever changing timetable demands.
And luckily for Sir Topham Hatt, upgrades are easy thanks to him being a prototype. It’s easier to interchange his parts than it would be for a mainline model.
This is why I chose Gordon for this little experiment. Also we’ve got a lot of specs on the guy. And a few possible Gresley-drawn blueprints of the actual, but never built A0. Which included his boiler PSI, and this is important…and that PSI is closer to an A3 than an A1. A1s had 210psi, and Gordon had 220psi. And I have a feeling it might be higher than that…given the performance he gave during that movie and the fact that even with all those problems, he was more than capable of traveling from Knapford to…somewhere close to Manchester…BOTH WAYS!
I’m going with the theorized 250 psi for Gordon.
The other reason for choosing Gordon is well, the weight of the locomotive. The locomotive that is Gordon is around 103 to maybe 105 tons. Very light weight compared to American locomotives of the same Pacific wheel arrangement. This is again key because lighter weight means less fuel and water used, and higher speeds. You want this. Total weight including the tender, Gordon’s around 160 tons. I’m intending to give him two tenders…because…well…where else is he gonna store 67 Tesla Model S battery modules? So, he’ll probably top out a little over 200 tons.
And now you know why he’s often made fun of due to his weight.
Tumblr media
Don’t look at me like that, Gordon.  You know you’re a fat ass.
Ahem...
This moves you closer to the goal of making a feasible steam locomotive.
Next, we get to the fuel as well as exhaust. They go hand and hand. To reduce fuel and water consumption in steam engines running in Britain, Gresley class locomotives and others had installed in their smoke boxes a new type of blast pipe called the Kylchap exhaust. This cuts down on fuel consumption and also cuts down on water. Adding two of these to the smoke box doubles the output of the locomotive. This is why the Flying Scotsman has two chimneys (funnels) instead of one.
So, let’s apply that to Gordon’s smoke box. Which as you can see, I’ve done in the image. The elongated chimney is similar to that of the Scotsman. So now, he’ll burn less fuel and use up less water, which allows him to run even longer. Couple that with converting him over to a waste veggie oil burner…we’ve just made Gordon into a carbon neutral steam engine. So, we’re one step closer to making Gordon a practical steam engine that can go anywhere he wants without people having a hissy fit over fires he might cause or soot, or whatever. Essentially, he stops being an insurance nightmare and he becomes officially green technology.
Now we’ve run into the issue that people often will point out about steam engines. Why we switched from steam to diesel. Or specifically from external combustion to internal combustion. Steam engines, although they are cool to see, convert only 10% of the heat they make into energy for movement. The rest is thrown up into the air through the smoke box. And in Gordon’s case, he probably uses 50% of that wasted heat to talk about how absolutely special he is. Well, we don’t want him to do that, we want to Gordon to get the most energy out of his heat.
Tumblr media
American steam engines solve this problem with a feed water heating system. Ambient temperature water is taken from the tender, into an injector which is then fed up into a bonnet over the firebox that is heated using the exhausted heat, the exhausted heat is around 1400ºF, and that heats the water to over boiling…and then it goes into another injector that pumps that into the boiler. This maintains the temperature in the boiler, which you want, uses the wasted heat that would just go up into the air…to preheat the feed water from the tender and prevent boiler shock, which you also want.
This also again conserves fuel, and it’s steam powered.
Gresley attempted to apply this interesting thing to his A1 Pacifics, specifically Gordon’s now scrapped brother White Knight.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, the benefits gained through this system were lost thanks to high maintenance of the system itself. So, Gresley opted out of the feed water heater system and used a system that does the same thing, but uses less parts to do it with. So Gordon has an exhaust steam injector. It basically does the same thing, still heating the feed water from Gordon’s tender with the exhausted steam inside his smoke box, and then dumping that heated water into Gordon’s boiler.
And again, it’s all steam powered, so it uses the excess heat that normally would be lost to the sky, into making our locomotive more efficient. The drawback is when we’re firing Gordon up, that to heat the water, we need live steam rather than exhaust steam. This is was an issue with the exhaust steam injectors, and we’ll solve with our little Tesla powered heating system.
But we’re still not there.
Let’s go into the other reason why steam engines are not very efficient…having to each morning light the firebox in order to slowly bring Gordon’s boiler temperature up to proper steam pressure in order to make him move. You cannot rush this. Depending on boiler size, you are supposed to take anywhere from 3 hours to 6 hours or even 8 hours to slowly bring a steam engine under steam. And again, they use live steam to heat the boiler, which makes bring Gordon fully under steam a slow process.
To do it faster, you risk boiler integrity and Gordon’s boiler explodes. You don’t want that. I don’t think he’d appreciate his intestines flying everywhere.
Tumblr media
That is still disturbing to look at.
You have to be careful when hand firing a steam engine and raising steam. How did we fix this problem before? Well, various workshops and roundhouses would have an external boiler that would preboil water and then put it into the steam engine while it’s resting over night.
Did any of you Thomas fans ever wonder why the steam engines were just ready to go in the morning like magic?  It’s because Tidmoth Sheds has an external boiler to introduce live team into them so that they won’t have to wait for the guy who hand fires them in the morning to slowly bring them fully under steam.  And hand firing a steam engine is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS!
There have been cases of crew members maintaining temperature of the steam engine while spending a night somewhere by burning what all they could in the steam engine so they didn’t have to worry about slowly raising steam. They just never extinguished the firebox.
We’re gonna go a different route with Gordon. And this is where Tesla comes in.
This is also how Gordon can get his dynamic braking, or rather regenerative braking because that’s better for Gordon than dynamic braking, and still serves the same purpose. And well with regenerative, you can still employ dynamic braking.
Gordon and his brothers and cousins don’t use air brakes like American steam engines do, they use vacuum braking. It’s why to make the Flying Scotsman street legal, they had to install air braking on top of the American loud chime whistle, bell, and high intensity headlamp.
We’re gonna rip Gordon’s vacuum brakes out and shove blended/regenerative braking in. But to do that, he needs a mechanism to power these brakes. Steam provided that mechanism at first, and yes he does have a dynamo, but that’s only good for powering the lights.
Don’t worry, he won’t mind if we rip something out of him. Back in 1939, Hatt had William Stanier, yes THAT William Stanier, rip Gordon’s Gresley conjugated valve gear and replaced it with a 2 cylinder Walschaerts valve gear. It actually increased Gordon’s tractive effort. Again, another good thing!
Let’s shove a bunch of Tesla car battery modules up Gordon’s tender. About maybe 67 should be enough. Yeah, we need two tenders. The numbers we ran to fully power Gordon with Tesla modules required basically 100 of those modules in his tender. But we’re turning Gordon into a hybrid, not a fully electric steam locomotive. We want enough to maintain boiler temperature during idling and when he’s tucked snugly in his shed. And enough to power his dynamic/regenerative braking, and perhaps enough to help in powering the coaches he pulls.
This is a Tesla Model S module.
Tumblr media
We’re gonna shove 67 of those up Gordon’s tender to create a battery powered preheater to his water and help insulate his boiler to retain heat when he’s all snuggled up in his shed. We’re gonna make a big electric blanket for Gordon so he won’t have to wake up with a cold boiler anymore.
We’re wanting to make Gordon practical. And well, we have. In reality, there is a railway which have steam engines that use a variant that I’m describing for Gordon.
Brienz Rothorn Railway is a railway in Switzerland and the steam locomotives are rather unique. They are a real world example of the modern steam locomotive and how we can create a modern railway using steam locomotives. Which includes something that I’m gonna put in Gordon, a way to preboil water using electricity from a battery installed in the locomotive itself which cuts the time of slowly raising Gordon to steam, pretty much turning 8 hours to 1.
In fact, it takes about 30 minutes to an hour to get a diesel engine revved up for service as well, which is why railways such as Norfolk and Southern are implementing a similar system for their diesels so that they can be up and running even faster especially during freezing cold weather. We’re just doing this for Gordon. And why Tesla? Does electric semi-truck tell you anything? Of course our real world Tony Stark would want to see if it’s possible to run a steam engine using his batteries.
Even if it’s a publicity stunt.
So, we have our steam engine, we have a way to make said steam engine carbon neutral. We have ways to make said steam engine more efficient using both the technology that was invented at the time of Gordon’s construction, and today. And now we have a way to not only insulate Gordon’s boiler to prevent heat lost during idling or when we’ve tucked him to bed at night as well as making sure he has his coffee in the morning so he can be up and ready.
So what’s the point of having the batteries for Gordon’s electric boiler blanket if we can just hook the big guy up to Norfolk and Southern’s SLEEPER system instead? I’m sure he wouldn’t mind having a power cord sticking out of his tender some times. Those batteries power the new advanced braking.
So let’s go ahead and rip out that braking system and replace it with a new one.
I suspect that modern NWR would have replaced the vacuum brakes of its steam engines with air brakes at least. Because those things became obsolete in the 70s. We’re giving Gordon regenerative braking. Regenerative braking is something that was applied to a steam locomotive one time. General Motors created four types of steam locomotives, all were scrapped…utilizing electric turbines!
Meet Jawn Henry!  The electric steam turbine locomotive.  And if it weren’t for dieselization, we would have continued researching to improve this massive behemoth.
Tumblr media
Yeah, the same thing they used to make power in a power plant, they decided to put that in a locomotive. And on top of that, they had regenerative braking. My friend in this project, since we’re using Tesla, and this is Elon we’re talking about…suggested shoving 3.5 Model S Tesla motors up Gordon’s bogey, which will coincide with the regenerative and blended braking.
I suggested Gordon doesn’t need this, BUT we are also thinking about possible breakdowns that might happen en route. So…yeah…Gordon switching over to his 3.5 Model S motors might be a good thing? But then if we do have the 3.5 Model S motors, why do we need Gordon? Well, unfortunately, the numbers we ran only say the motors are powerful enough to move Gordon himself, not the train he pulls. And certainly not at the speed we need him to be at. The motors act like attaching a diesel to the back of Gordon’s tender.
Tumblr media
Um, example A?  I think Gordon would much rather have Tesla motors in his bogey than Paxton shoving against his tender when he breaks down.
The purpose there is for potential mechanical issues, power to the coaches, and powering regenerative braking to Gordon.
The system, much like a system in a hybrid car, monitors idling time Gordon has verses running time, and during down time switching between firebox heat and battery heat. While still keeping the pilot light going so Gordon’s not using his fuel up. And in the mornings all you have to do is light Gordon’s firebox, but he’s pretty much at a good head of steam to start off already thanks to the preheated water.
And the 3.5 Model S motors provide power to the regenerative and blended braking which I suggest to my buddy whom I had this rather long discussion with.  Regenerative braking coupled with the motors actually charges the batteries.  So every time Gordon applies the brakes, he’s charging his heating blanket.
And this is how we turn a steam engine into something possibly practical.
Tumblr media
Maybe.
In conclusion, we’ve reduced the steam engine’s carbon footprint with the WVO fuel, reduced the amount of fuel and water it uses with the Kylchap exhaust system, maximized the conversion of wasted heat from the engine with exhaust steam injector, gave the steam engine an electric blanket to sleep under at night, and coffee in the morning which makes the time the steam engine takes to get started a lot less. And with that electric blanket, we’ve now given it a proper regenerative/blended braking system and secondary “get out of dodge” method just in case the engine brakes down during an excursion. Because we don’t want the engine to tie up the line.
And now Gordon doesn’t have to listen to all those mechanically inclined people telling him what a literal waste of energy he is.
This was an exercise that we did when we were bored and there was nothing on TV.
I’m sure someone can come along and possibly suggest something better than this.
And if you’re really curious, we did run the numbers for if we just say…let’s get rid of Gordon’s firebox altogether and make him a completely electric steam engine. You know how many battery modules we would need to shove up Gordon’s tender to make that a possibility? About 100 or more. It’s why I told him that it’ll be better if Gordon was a hybrid.  It’s just not practical to power up a steam engine using lithium batteries.
So we’re supplementing Gordon’s power with WVO and the batteries. Adding the electric traction motors…aka the 3.5 Model S motors. And using electric motors to supplement the steam power, allowing the boiler to run at lower PSI and fuel input rates, and increase overall efficiency.
I think we got a steam locomotive even the diesels will be jealous of. Yay?
All we need to do is get Tesla involved.
Remember, this is just a fun theory we worked out, and I’m still tweaking it as I go as I discover new things about modern steam power.
HEY, ELON!  HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO INVEST IN THE MOST ADVANCED AI IN THE WORLD...THAT’S LITERALLY CAPABLE OF ABSTRACT THOUGHT?!  We call him Gordon Gresley.

Meet new sewing pattern <Azuki> Work pants
I feel it’s a bit strange time to release a new product. But I also hope this helps people enjoying to spend time at home. Meet my new sewing pattern, Work pants <Azuki>.
I am a big fan of utility/work items and making or sketching those a lot. This pattern was made with those researches.
The base of the pants design is a very authentic regular ~ loose-fitting straight pants. But there are many functional options inspired by traditional workwear, like a tool pocket, hammer loop or knee patches with 3D shape. Make them with all the fun options or just keep them simple for daily use as you like.

<Design options>
Besides the edge pockets on both sides, there are 3 additionals for the front pockets, thigh pocket with zipper, flap thigh pocket and detachable holster pocket. Please choose them as your usage.
Back pockets are also customizable. I personally like this asymmetric look but you can make them like normal denim pants.
There are many other details inspired trad work pants like adjuster belt, hummer loop, or knee patches. Making those details requires time but they are well worth the effort. I hope you enjoy choosing and customizing the detail.

<fabric recommendation>
The pattern is drafted for woven pants fabrics. For the authentic work pants, denim, canvas, duck, cotton twill or chino are suitable. I also want to try with water-repellent fabrics like oil-coated fabric, depending on the usage.
Although the pattern is for woven, I tried to make them with stretch. The yellow ocher sample in the photo was made with low tension(under 7%) stretch denim. I needed to adjust the pattern around hip about -6mm on Front and Back. If you need to use stretch fabric, I recommend a low tension one and to consider altering the pattern for fitting by making a muslin.
The salmon pink sample was made with mid-weight cotton duck with contrast fabric. It was very easy to handle and very fitting material for workwear.
Tumblr media
Generally, woven fabrics are more durable than stretch so they are suitable for utility items. But when I researched a workwear trade show, I saw many companies are recently using stretch fabrics on full-body or some specific parts for helping body movement. In countries with humid weather, like my mother country Japan, it looks 100% cotton woven is still very standard for comfort.
